Booking and pick-up
Are the vehicles insured?
Yes, all our vehicles are covered by compulsory civil and CASCO insurance.
What methods of payment are available for car rental services?
You can pay by cash, credit card or bank transfer.
How do I rent a car?
You can rent a car simply by going on the home page of our website and enter your dates and pick-up and return locations, or by calling on +230 263 22 64.
When you book a car online, we will contact you to confirm your reservation.
Can i cancel or change my booking?
Cancellation of your booking is free of charge if its made X H before the start date of your rental period.
In the event of late cancellation outside the contractual period, the deposit paid for the booking will be forfeited to Carent.

Can i receive confirmation of my booking?
Once you have confirmed your booking, you will be redirected to the “Booking confirmation” page, where your booking number will be displayed.
At the same time, you will receive a confirmation e-mail informing you of the details of your rental, as well as the following attachments:
Are there any age restrictions for driving a vehicle rented by Carent?
There is no age limit for hiring and driving a Carent.
You must have held a valid driving licence for at least two years.
No copies of driving licences will be accepted.
Can i register an additional driver?
If you would like a second driver to drive the vehicle, simply indicate this at the time of booking. This driver can also be added when you pick up the vehicle, or during the rental period at our agency.
The original licence of the second driver is required and must be presented on site for this addition, with the same restrictions as for the main driver.
Where and how can i collect the car?
You can pick up your car at the following address: Carent, coastal road, Pointe aux Canonniers
If you have booked a car for more than three days, we can deliver the car to the location of your choice.
At the rental location, all you need is your driving licence and the credit card you used to make your online reservation. Carent staff will ask you to sign your rental contract and the vehicle condition report.

Yes, if you wish, we can provide you with a map of the Island of Mauritius
Where do I return the car?
The car must be returned to the location you choose or any location indicated on the Carent website.
What are the fuel rules?
Carent gives you a vehicle with a full tank of fuel and you must return the vehicle with the same level of fuel.
When the vehicle is returned, two rules apply to ensure that the tank is actually full:
- If you have driven less than 100 km: you will be asked for a valid service station receipt as proof of refueling.
- If you’ve driven more than 100 km: the visual level of the gauge will provide proof that the tank is full.
How are you billed?
If you booked online, you will receive your invoice by email as soon as the rental procedure has been completed by the agency staff.
If you have not booked online, you can collect your invoice directly from the agency staff.
